Overview

The Project

This project involved creating a complete visual identity system for two distinct natural food brands operating in Pakistan — HAMDANIX, a premium cold-pressed oil brand positioned around luxury and healing, and Amir Online Store, a trust-driven desi foods brand selling ghee, honey, and dry fruits to urban Pakistani families.

The challenge was to design every visual touchpoint — from product jar labels to Shopify store banners to social media price lists — using AI-assisted design tools, while making each brand look distinct, premium, and credible enough to compete in a market where buyers are deeply skeptical of quality claims.

Design Challenge
Create two separate brand identities that feel premium and trustworthy — using AI tools — without looking AI-generated or generic.
My Role
Brand direction, visual design, AI prompt engineering, asset creation, and final production-ready delivery across all formats.
Tools Used
Canva for layout, Gemini + ChatGPT for concept & copy, Picsart for image enhancement, AI generation for lifestyle photography and mockups.
Output Formats
Product labels (print-ready), Shopify store banners, social media price lists, product collection visuals, and lifestyle hero images.

Design Principles

The Framework Behind Every Asset

Trust Before Aesthetics
Every design decision served credibility first. Purity claims, lab-tested badges, and bilingual copy were placed prominently — beauty came second.
Bilingual by Default
Every label and banner was designed in both Urdu and English — not as translation, but as a dual-audience strategy for Pakistan's mixed urban market.
Platform-Native Sizing
Each asset was sized for its specific platform: Shopify banners at 1440×600, social media price lists at 16:9, jar labels at print-compatible dimensions.
Distinct Brand Voices
HAMDANIX speaks luxury — dark, gold, minimal. Amir Online Store speaks desi warmth — wood, copper, Urdu script. Never mixed, never confused.
AI as a Tool, Not a Crutch
AI generated the photography and backgrounds; human judgment curated, directed, and refined every output. The final assets required as much editing as generation.
Price as Positioning
Price list banners were designed to signal premium — gold plate backgrounds, leather price tags, and free delivery prominently displayed to justify the cost.
Process

How I Worked

Step 01
Brand Direction & Mood
Used ChatGPT to define each brand's visual identity — color palette, typography direction, tone of voice, and positioning. No design started without a clear brief.
Step 02
AI Image Generation
Used Gemini and AI tools to generate lifestyle photography, background scenes, and product mockups — with precise prompts to match brand aesthetic and Pakistani cultural context.
Step 03
Layout & Typography in Canva
All text, logos, labels, and layout work done in Canva — using brand-consistent fonts, spacing, and color palettes defined in the brief stage.
Step 04
Enhancement via Picsart
Product images enhanced for saturation, sharpness, and background removal. Dry fruits packaging photos composited with transparent pouch mockups for professional output.
Step 05
Urdu Copywriting
All Urdu copy — product names, taglines, price tags, CTAs — written with cultural accuracy, not direct translation. "خالص مصنوعات کا مرکز" chosen over a literal brand description.
Step 06
Production & Export
Assets exported at platform-specific resolutions — print-quality for labels, web-optimized for banners, high-res for social media — and reviewed against final use context.

Reflection

What I Learned

AI tools generate options — designers make decisions. The quality of output depended entirely on the quality of prompts, curation, and editing. A bad creative direction produces bad AI output, regardless of the tool.
Pakistani food brands need cultural fluency, not just design skill. The difference between a label that sells and one that doesn't is whether it speaks the buyer's language — literally (Urdu) and visually (copper, wood, desi kitchen settings).
Designing two brands simultaneously sharpened the ability to switch visual contexts — HAMDANIX demanded restraint and luxury; Amir Online Store demanded warmth and trust. Keeping them distinct was a constant discipline.
Price list banners are underrated conversion assets. The Desi Ghee price list — with gold plate imagery, leather price tags, and free delivery — does more selling than any product description. Design is the salesperson.
